SpinMaster Pitching Clinic
The SpinMaster Pitching/Catching School ( fastball instruction ) opens
up for its 6th year of operation on MONDAY November 2nd , 2009. SpinMaster
is open to all female and male pitchers and catchers who have a burning
desire to learn and further refine themselves at these specialty defensive
positions.
Under the guidance of Head Instructor Mal Swift and
his sons, Jason, Matthew, Ryan and a host of assisting instructors( Pat
Humphries, Danille Smith and Brian Mather plus others) these students of
the game will further their skills to make them future stars in fastball and
keep the game alive and growing.
Pitchers will be instructed on proper mechanics,
ball grips and the defensive positioning without the ball. Pitchers will be
tested on accuracy and speed throughout the School year.
Pitchers must provide their own catchers. Only
catchers taking instruction will pay the catcher fee.
Catchers will learn positioning, catching mechanics
and other catching techniques with many drills implemented to improve
their skills.
Instructor to student ratio is: pitchers 1
to 3 and catchers 1 to 2.
The School will be at Durham College's new Campus Recreation
and Wellness Centre- Gym # 3 on MONDAY nights for 1 hour sessions
per age group, either 7 to 8 pm or 8 - 9 pm. Parking is available just
north of the gym and a short walk south will get you to the gym.
Registration will be on a first come, first serve basis. There will be
only limited spots open for registrants. The cost of the 20 nights
will be $ 300.00/player, paid before or on the first night November 2,2009,
if there is room. These fees also cover insurance.
There is a family rate available for two or more students.
